30th August 2024: Off we go
It was quite nice to have an evening departure as we had the day to do some last minute gardening and catch up with Chris and Percy. We left home and walked up the street to catch a bus to Sutherland, then a train to Hurstville changing for another train to Rockdale and finally a bus to the airport. A total cost of $4.94 each. It was funny to see that the queue to check in for people who had already completed online check in was 3 times as long as the full check in line! Next time I will not bother with online check in especially if like this time we had already paid to choose our seats. With plenty of time to spare we wandered around the duty free shop and pre purchase our alcohol to pick up on our return. We had a pre departure start of the holiday drink at the Peroni bar before boarding the plane. We had a mostly smooth flight and both slept a little on the first leg (14h 20m) to Dubai arriving at 4:25am.We have a 6hr layover and are taking advantage of the credit card lounge a...
