12th September - Naxos to Mykonos
We had a relaxing start to the day, packed our bags, checked out and went for a walk into Naxos town. We passed a statue similar to one we had seen in the museum in Paros and the desalination plant.
After lunch we headed back to the hotel to pick up our bags and walk into the port. It was an easy walk and we arrived in plenty of time. Luckily as we had lined up in the wrong line at first! We boarded the ferry and sat down in some comfortable seats but I couldn’t work out from our tickets what seat number we had so I checked with reception and he told me we were in first class.
There were only one other couple in there with us and they were on the opposite side of the boat so we had a lovely trip over to Mykonos.
We were picked up by the free transfer to the hotel and checked in to our huge room before setting off into Mykonos town.
Even thought there were a few cruise ships in port it wasn’t as busy as we had expected, maybe they were all at the beaches! We wandered through the maze of tiny alleyways to make our way out to the iconic windmills. We then walked through little Venice where there were no railing along the edge and luckily not too many people to pass as it would be easy to fall into the water which was splashing up over the edge of the walkway.

We bought some beer for €2.50 per can and sat by the edge of the harbour to watch the sun slowly descend. The people up at the 360° bar would have to pay either €50 or €100 depending on where they were seated for the privilege.Sitting by the harbour enjoying a beer
Sunset in little Venice
After the sunset we stopped off and had some dinner and bought provisions for lunch tomorrow before walking back to our hotel.Walking back to the hotel after sunset
