6th October - Corfu, Greece

When we went outside in the morning we found we were docked next to the huge Norwegian Escape.
We walked into the old town passing the New Fortress and wandering through the maze of streets filled with tourist shops.

After wandering around the town and seeing a cricket match taking place in the green next to all the restaurants we headed to the Old Fortress originally built in the 6th Century. Even though there was a long line we decided to line up for tickets to enter.

As we entered we saw there was a cafe on the grounds so had a break before continuing our journey. In hindsight this was probably a bad idea as the clouds started to roll in while we were walking up to the lighthouse. We had a great view from the top and could see the ship in the distance and it was raining heavily there. We quickly made our way down from the top as the heavens opened, taking refuge in the tunnels until the rain eased.

The sun came back out and we continued our tour of the Old Fortress walking on part of the outer wall and having to take refuge under the porch of the church of St George as it started to rain again.

After the walk around the Old Fort we walked back into the old town getting lost in the maze of streets. We set off back to the ship and once again got caught in the rain. Luckily we had both worn our quick drying clothes as we had left our rain jackets and umbrellas on the ship.

In the evening we had dinner in the main restaurant and then headed to the world stage to watch the comedian, Simon Palomares from Melbourne.
